Many Total Life Changes stories originate from a place of financial hardship: the loss of a once-stable career, perhaps, or a history of familial poverty. The story of Su Jeong Lee of Daegu, South Korea is different, however.
“When I told my friends that I wanted to do network marketing, they were surprised,” she says. “Many told me not to do it. My husband’s a bank manager, and I’m a psychological counselor at a public school. Our relatives are the superintendents of the school board, and each of our children has a scholarship. Why take the risk?”
While she understands why her friends had reservations, she says she made the decision because she has a dream. As part of her work as a counselor, she’s dealt with many children who have difficulty adjusting to life at school. Some of these children face severe bullying, or have learning challenges which inhibit their progress. The combination is a formula for extreme stress, in a country which puts a high premium on academic success.
“Many Korean teenagers are committing suicide, and the pressure of working with some of these pupils was exhausting to me as well,” she recalls. She began to drink TLC’s Iaso® Tea on the recommendation of a friend, and credits it with helping her to relax, with accompanying benefits to her mood and skin tone. She was convinced enough of the product’s efficacy to join the company as an IBO in October of 2016.
She took a leave of absence from her work to tend to her own mental and physical health, and began to work with TLC Global Director Kang Jin Ha on a part-time basis. She says she was impressed by the benefits she saw in the lives of her customers and fellow IBOs, and began to consider anew an old idea.
“When I was in school for child psychological counseling, I had a dream of establishing an alternative school for children. I became convinced that I could achieve that dream through network marketing, so I resigned from my job and started working with TLC in earnest in January 2018.” She is thankful and blessed for the leadership and prayers of Global Director O Jun Hui with her rapid ascension to the rank of National Director in just five short months.
“I have always wanted to change the lives of my country’s youths,” she says. “As important as my work as a counselor was, I am convinced I can make a greater impact by thinking bigger. I believe, with my faith in God, my work with TLC will help me reach the point where I can put those plans into action.”
