For many of Total Life Changes’ highest ranking Independent Business Owners (IBOs), the work of running a team and selling the product quickly takes over their professional life, and they soon set their previous career aside. But there are also many IBOs who prefer to keep network marketing as an ancillary source of income. That’s the case with Indiana’s Leigh Robinson, who recently made National Director while continuing to own and operate her own advertising company.
When she was introduced to TLC in September of 2016, she was hardly on the hunt. “I’d known Phillip [Birchfield] a few years back when we were involved in a different MLM company,” she recalls. “We both went different ways from that endeavor, and when he asked me to have a cup of coffee I knew it was another network marketing company. I had already decided I wasn’t going to do it. But he didn’t push me. He just told me how he thought I’d fit into the team he was building and gave me a few product samples.”
She had an instant positive reaction to TLC’s Iaso Tea, Phyte and NRG. “Tennis is my favorite form of exercise and my game has improved significantly,” says the grandmother of six. “I’m also happy to report a better complexion, ideal weight management and excellent health without a single pharmaceutical. I’ve just turned 51 years old, and I’ve never felt better.”
Despite her already busy career, she decided to take the plunge and allow Birchfield to sponsor her. With her existing networks and marketing savvy, she was able to quickly turn TLC into a profitable sideline. What’s more, it’s provided her the opportunity to work closely with her daughter Hilary.
“I brought my daughter into the business because I want her to have good health and a flexible schedule while earning the living she needs to keep a family of 8 movin’ and groovin’,” she says. Robinson anticipates her daughter will soon achieve a National Directorship in her own right. “She is amazing, and I really enjoy working with her.”
Her overall experience with TLC has surpassed her initial expectations. “What sets TLC apart from other network marketing experiences I’ve had is the compensation program. It’s truly designed to allow for mentoring and success of team members. You can get others involved just by using the product to feel better, but you can also really help them improve their finances as well.”
Robinson considers the company an easy recommendation to friends and family, especially when they see how well it has been going for her. “When I look in the mirror, I see a woman who is willing to go for it, gain new experience, meet new people and make a nice income while I’m at it. Others can see that too.”
In the future, she believes she might decide to sell her advertising company and use the profits from her work with TLC to take “a vacation or two,” but in the present, she’s happy continuing to have it all at once.
