With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Jasim Mohamed is storming ahead with his direct selling business and now has his sights set on even greater success.
Just joining Learning Enterprises Organisation Ltd (LEO), a global entrepreneurship training company, in March this year, Jasim has already risen rapidly through the ranks and there really is no stopping this hard-working young entrepreneur. Indeed, with impressive plans to expand his business internationally, this is one direct selling star with a very bright future.
At the tender age of 22, this highly motivated, young LEO Member has achieved success on a scale that some can only dream of in their lifetime.
Based in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Jasim is now looking to grow his business globally, and with the complete commitment he has to his work, he will undoubtedly achieve this in no time at all. Embracing the invaluable entrepreneurship education LEO offers, he has already advanced at an impressive rate.
So, we asked Jasim some questions to discover the story behind this outstanding individual.
What is it that you love about LEO and why did you decide to join?
What do I love about LEO? – Everything! I love the whole idea of learning, earning and owning that lies at the heart of LEO, and I share its values and vision, especially regarding the importance of education. I was also looking for more flexibility and freedom in my career and LEO offers this. In addition, it has a generous compensation plan, which I believe is the best one out there.
Before joining, I researched the guidelines that leaders in the direct selling industry have given for choosing a good company and LEO hit all the marks. In fact, it over-delivers with its continuous innovation and support, and LEO’s services and products are breaking new ground in the industry. I also believe that LEO’s values are very much in line with those of the UAE. They both encourage entrepreneurship, learning, leadership, a growth mindset and creativity. The leaders who are behind the company are also incredibly hard working, humble, and supportive.
How has LEO changed your life?
Before LEO, I worked as a trainee aircraft engineer, which requires you to devote a huge amount of your time with no flexibility. It really wasn’t for me. I’m now working less hours than I was with greater passion for what I do, freedom, flexibility and growth potential. I get to choose where, when and with whom I work, and I also get to travel the world and meet other like-minded people.
LEO provides courses that really get you thinking and growing and the experience it provides can also be applied to other areas of your life and work. LEO is an incredible medium for networking and meeting people who think, work and are like you, and has a community of successful individuals who achieve great things by working together. I am also really passionate about helping others and watching them achieve what they want and become someone better – I find this very fulfilling.
You have achieved so much at such a young age with your LEO business – is there a secret to your success?
There really is no secret, it’s simple, if you just do your best and believe in yourself, you can be successful. The one common thing I’ve seen in successful people across a variety of fields is that they all believed they would make it. Learn to follow your heart and inner guidance because I believe that is how you’ll find your destiny in life – your personal legend.
I am constantly seeking excellence and always endeavour to do my best. I also often put myself out of my comfort zone, sometimes to the extreme, and once you have experienced this and conquered it, it is no longer such a challenge. By making this a habit I am pushing myself to keep growing and always move forward to the next level.
How well does your work fit in with your family life and other commitments?
It all works really well most of the time, but I keep in mind that any sacrifices I make in the short term, are for my long-term benefit. I have even got some of my family members involved. In fact, my goal is to get all of them involved. I do miss some family gatherings, not because I’m forced to but because I know that if I put in the work today I’ll eventually have much more time for them.
I don’t count the hours I put into the business. but most of my time is completely devoted to this. I also manage to fit in other commitments, such as personal development, hobbies and fitness and they all slot in perfectly. In fact, my other commitments help my business in LEO and LEO helps my other commitments – It all works in seamless synergy.
What motivates you to do well in your LEO business and what plans do you have for the future?
I’ve realised that my main motivation comes from within and has less to do with external things and people. For me, I am motivated by fear. By the fear of being average. My written goals and commitment to them are what keeps me going in the long-term. Being clear about your goals gives you motivation.
However, I am also motivated by my family, my team and especially the doubters. When people say it’s a waste of time, my motivation skyrockets and I go into overdrive because I know that with patience and persistence success will come. My plans for the future are to conduct weekly workshops to educate and help those who are looking for ways to learn, earn and own. I am also planning to expand internationally and, most importantly, provide massive value to everyone.
Do you have any advice for anyone who might be thinking of starting their own business?
Just do it! You can have the best idea and the best plan but if you don’t put it into action it isn’t worth much. I advise my team to always know why they are doing this and never aim solely for money as it is not what we truly seek but rather a means to get us to what we want. The greatest motivator in hard times is achieving self-fulfilment and your long-term goals. You need to ask yourself ‘What is my inner WHY?’.
