As the number of people with smartphones and tablets continues to grow, mobile commerce growth is outpacing traditional e-commerce growth by 200%. Right now 1 out of every ten e-commerce dollars is spent using a smartphone or tablet ($4.7B in just the 2nd quarter of 2013), and 63% of people are expecting to shop more on their mobile devices in the future.
With the ability to be connected to the internet at all times, 61% of today’s consumers prefer brands that provide a good mobile experience. The top 5 companies taking advantage of mobile commerce (m-commerce) are Apple, Amazon, QVC, Walmart, and Groupon Goods. An optimal mobile UI makes all the difference for attracting and closing sales with customers. Since 64% of consumers read their email on mobile devices, the businesses who deliver the best mobile experience naturally have the highest shopper conversion rates.
