Ben Sturtevant, Top Leader and Network Marketing Ambassador explains as follows:
“Before I spill the beans, let me provide a little context…
I started my network marketing journey in 1997 at the age of 19. When I began I never expected to have the success I’ve had. It has been an amazing journey.
I built a team of 40,000 distributors over the last 11 years (really from 2006 to 2014) online.
I used technology, not to replace me but to make me more efficient. I didn’t have a big warm market. I wasn’t the life of the party type of personality. But I was an entrepreneur. So by accident, I taught myself how to market online.
Over the last 11 years I’ve been with one company. I’ve been fortunate to have been very successful with them.
Unfortunately, our company was sold in 2014 and our new parent company just didn’t have a passion for MLM.
Changes were made and the short story of it is that my passion for building was lost.
Being the loyal person I am, I stuck it out and tried the make the best of it. But obviously, once your passion is gone it’s very hard to get it back.
After a couple of years of semi-retirement mode, I decided to look at where I wanted to go in the future. I dipped my toe in a few companies, sampled numerous products and services, all in an effort to try and rekindle that passion.
During this process I met some amazing leaders and experienced some incredible products. But nothing really clicked for me. Yes, there were major bonus offers. Yes, deals could have been made. But it just didn’t feel right.
Through all of this, I had done some consulting with a few companies and leaders. I had helped a few clients design some marketing pieces. While doing this I found that I really had a passion for helping people master their own marketing skills and I had a passion for the creative side of the marketing process.
Over the years I’ve had over 80,000 leads opt-in and request information.
Today I have 48,000+ still subscribed. I found a way to get people to come to me. I was building funnels before funnels were called funnels.
What I didn’t realize was that I truly loved the creative side of the process. I loved the development and deployment of the marketing pages and systems. I enjoyed creating processes that got results.
While deploying a project I created to help Network Marketers with their marketing (Networker Funnels), a legend and icon in the industry reached out to me. He asked to see some of my work and results and expressed an interest in talking. Honestly, I thought he was going to try and pitch me on a MLM deal.
But he didn’t (because that’s not who he is). Instead, he shared with me the vision he had for his coaching/training company (not MLM) and mentioned that his company was looking for a creative person with experience in Network Marketing to add to their team.
Within a few seconds something just felt right. Honestly, I was a little nervous because I hadn’t had a “boss” since 2003! Could I actually be considering this?
But this didn’t feel like I’d be joining a company as an employee (even though that’s what I would be). It felt more like a partnership. I think it felt that way because he and I share the same vision for our profession.
We both want to help Network Marketing gain the respect it deserves. To accomplish that we have to start from the ground up. That means, one Networker at a time, we have to help teach people how to do it the right way.
I was up for the challenge, so I accepted his proposal. And while I continue to be an entrepreneur and Network Marketer, I am honored to now also be the VP of Marketing for Bliss Business, a Richard Brooke company.
I have followed Richard my entire career in Network Marketing. Mach2 With Your Hair On Fire was one of the first books I ever read. Remember “Mailbox Money?” I still have the PDF version in a folder on my computer! I am truly excited to help add to Richard’s already awesome portfolio of products.
My hope is to help Richard and his wife Kimmy have an amazing impact on the profession that I love. So, here’s to my next chapter!
